President

Cameron McKay, Vice President

CIPS Experience

Cam has been an active member of CIPS for two years. Previously on the Board, Cam served as Director of Marketing. He hosts a number of SIG's based around the latest technology offerings from Microsoft including Unified Communications and Virtualization. Cam continues to host CIPS events designed to attract Gen Y to the CIPS community.

Professional Experience

Cam has over five years experience in the Information Technology field with positions ranging from Tier 1 helpdesk support to managing the Infrastructure and Support Services at a Fortune 50 company. Cam likes taking a hands on approach to Infrastructure and can be found racking servers or assembling patch cords. A multitude of skill sets enable Cam to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for the business and bring value to the corporation.

Education

Cam attended Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario where he completed the Building Automation program. Courses ranged from designing microcontrollers to installing security systems. Project Management and soft skills were also an integral portion to the program. The diverse nature of the program suited Cam's "generalist" style perfectly.

Personal Interests

Cam enjoys taking off the IT hat on weeknights and weekends to spend time with his friends. Cam can usually be found at a local pub or out downtown Toronto at one of the popular nightclubs. Cam is an amature photographer, who's photos have been featured on the City of Burlington website. Also, Cam participates in a number of user groups in the Toronto area and is an active member of LOPSA and IEEE.

Cam's message

Cam will continue to be an active member of the IT Community, hosting events and participating in others. Cam believes that to get the most of out being an IT Pro or Developer, you have to give back to the Community. CIPS is a great organization to meet new people that share the same energy and passion that you have for IT.
